Six set points, and the shape of each one.

Rate is the number everyone quotes. Shape is the one that changes what the pulse does at the membrane, because a fast rising edge and a slow one deliver different things at the same frequency.

Why a sawtooth and a square are not interchangeable

The induced voltage in a conductor follows the rate of change of the field, not the field itself. A square wave changes almost instantaneously at each edge and does nothing in between, so it delivers two sharp events per cycle. A sawtooth ramps, so it delivers a long shallow push and then one hard reset.

Flow uses square because attention is the target and the sharp edge is the signal. Jolt uses sawtooth because the ramp builds and the reset lands at the same moment the plate goes cold, which is the only place in the device where two layers are deliberately synchronised to within ten milliseconds.

Resilience uses a sine because it runs all day. A sine has no hard edges, no broadband content, and no reason to be noticed.

7.83 Hz

The one number that needs a caveat

7.83 Hz is the fundamental of the Schumann resonance, the standing electromagnetic wave in the cavity between the Earth's surface and the ionosphere. It is a real, measured, physical quantity.

What it is not is an established biological set point. The claim that human physiology is tuned to it is popular, it is repeated confidently across the wellness industry, and the evidence for it is thin. ORRA uses it as the Resilience default because it is a defensible low-frequency choice with a long history of use in PEMF devices, not because we have shown it does something specific.

When the structure-first work described on the science page gets done, this is the first number that should be allowed to change.
