ORRA Shorts

Quads and hamstrings, before the session and after it.

Compression shorts

The Shorts are the clearest use case in the family and the easiest to test, because the outcome people care about is one they already measure. Quads and hamstrings, femoral and sciatic paths, one set point before a session and a different one after it.

They also carry the family's only fully-costed apparel bill of materials, at $116 a unit against a $349 concept retail, which is where the margin story for the worn line comes from.

The ORRA Shorts: matte black compression shorts with red emitter panels over both thighs, cyan coil weave banding the quadriceps, and a charcoal drive module clipped into the back of the waistband.

Architecture

What is in it

ORRA Shorts carries 5 functional layers. Every named part is a real manufacturer part number, chosen once for the family and reused, so one qualification covers every unit that uses it.

Weave

Conformal coil weave across the quadriceps and hamstrings

Photonic

Flexible LED arrays over the thighs

660 nm / 810 nm

Thermal

Flexible TEC weave

Sensing

Waistband bio-impedance liner + BMI270

Drive

Sacrum module

The ORRA drive module seated in its moulded recess at the back of the Shorts waistband, its contact pads meeting the conductive weave either side.
One module, one recess. The same part seats in the Suit collar, the Dome strap and the Strides cuff.

Source drawing

The sheet this page was built from

Everything above was read off one working drawing. It is published here whole, annotations included, so the specification and its source can be checked against each other rather than taken on trust.

Concept sheet for the ORRA Shorts.
Working concept sheet from the ORRA development thread, published whole and unretouched. Open it to read the annotations at full size. They are working notes rather than verified findings, and several state things this site does not claim: nothing is patent pending, no protein simulation has been run, and no certification named on any sheet is held. What is true and what is not.

Honest position

What we are not saying

ORRA Shorts is a general wellness concept. It is not a medical device, it has not been evaluated by the FDA, and it is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. No unit has been manufactured, no certification listed on this site is held, and no human data of any kind exists.

The concept retail price of $349 is a design target set against a bill of materials. It is not an offer and there is nothing to buy.
